After analyzing Plan benefits, our consultants translate the important plan features, rules, and benefits into a high-level benefit summary. This is the heart of our exclusive BenefitTabs™ “control panel” technique of presenting Plan information on the website. The set of BenefitTabs™ comprises an overview that links into the Summary Plan Description, Plan Document and other areas of the website as needed. This allows the participant to "drill-down" from summary information in plain English, down into the official language contained in the SPD, and from there, if necessary, into the controlling language of the plan document itself.
In this way, the participant avoids the signal-to-noise problem of most SPDs. Even if the SPD has been written to exclude benefits jargon and legalese, there is usually too much information for a participant to quickly find the answer to a simple question. But with BenefitTabs™, most participants can obtain the information they need from the BenefitTab without going any further. If the participant does need more detail, he can access it easily and intuitively using the BenefitTab's built-in navigation features and intelligent links to more detail.
